ID:Smart Workshop

Call for Papers

ID:SMART Workshop is a face-to-face event that fosters networking and technical updates within the European community of electronic identities, wallets, smart cards and hardware security modules (HSMs) once per year in Darmstadt. Previously known as Smartcard-Workshop, it has been the reference event for hands-on researchers, standardization group members, decision-makers and experts from companies and government administration since 1991.

The 2023 ID:SMART edition will be held on 21-22 June, 2023 in Darmstadt, Germany. Conference language will be English, including all presentations. Contributions shall address innovations, standards, certifications or implementations regarding electronic identities for devices and individuals, focusing on one or more of the following application-related or foundational topics:

• Automotive Security
• Secure IoT
• Secure Cloud and Edge computing
• Secure Mobile Platforms and Applications, e.g. 5G
• Digital Assets (e.g. currencies, NFTs)
• mobile Driver License and its derivates
• eIDAS 2.0, EU-ID, European e-Wallets, distributed identities
• (Qualified) electronic attestation of attributes (QEAA/EAA)
• Trust Services (TSP)
• EU Large Scale Pilots
• Security and Artificial Intelligence
• Information Security and Risk Management
• Hardware and Cryptography
• Post Quantum Cryptography and crypto-agile PKI
• Evaluation and Certification
• Tests and Analysis

We invite submissions of max. 1 page abstract, plus 1 page table of contents, until 28th of February, 2023 to Claudia.Predigercast-forum.de.

The Workshop Programme Committee then evaluates the submissions against their innovation level, practical relevance, technical depth and implementation findings. Authors will be informed by 15th of March, 2023 about the acceptance to the workshop.

The selected contributions will be offered a 20min. presentation slot, followed by a 10min. Q&A session in the main programme of the workshop. Presentation slides shall be provided by 31st of May, 2023.

Authors of accepted submissions are expected to submit a 3-10 page paper for publication in the virtual workshop proceedings until 30th of April, 2023.
